Home for a week

Image
That's my Jacket in the window. The taylor was very excited about showing everyone what he is capable of.  Our water getting delivered from a high source. We love this family, We had a Family home Evening with them this week. This is for my sister Liana This is a cashew nut and a cashew apple. You can eat the apple as well as the nut. Processing a cashew is very labor intensive. Look it up on youtube. W got to come home for the Wedding of Madison but a big side benefit was being able to be here for the blessing of our newest grandson McCoy. I was able to give the blessing and he almost got the name Zimmer. A big sandwich for a little girl That is a lot of cuteness in one place. Mckenzie getting a little help they don't like the camera do they? The two reasons for coming home.

Transfers and a Baptism

Baptism Continue teaching and inviting.  It's late but I want to say a few things before I go to bed. Sorry, this will be short. This week was transfers again. They seem like they come around very fast. There were 3 missionaries from our Zone in Azua that went home. We have worked closely with all of them and they are really great missionaries. We already miss them. We drove the 2 sisters to the Capital so they didn't have to take the bus. We did a little side trip to show them some of the beautiful sights that they really don't get a chance to see as missionaries. We got to hear their final testimonies on their last night before going home. We love to hear these final testimonies. Transfers are always a bit of controlled chaos. Elder Buhler and I went to the airport to pick up an Hermana and an Elder. The traffic was bad so we were late. We couldn't find them anywhere. After about an hour of looking, we found them sitting at a table and we had walked by t

I'm pretty sure this was the busiest week we have had since moving to Azua. We are getting to know more people and trying to have return visits. We also had several meetings with the missionaries. The Mission President has asked the zones to have a Zone Council meeting each month and also a Zone meeting. These are meetings by the young missionaries for the young missionaries. Both were this week and both were very well planned and executed. We also had a zone activity on Monday (P-day). Hermana Borup and I gave everyone 50 pesos to buy something at the "Paca" market. The Paca market is the market where large bundles of clothes from Haiti are unwrapped and sold. You can find some very random things there. We gave prizes to the best buys. It was an activity that didn't need athletic skill to win. We then gathered and shared our purchases and ate pizza. We started to have Spanish lessons from the District Presidents wife. She is a teacher by profession and speaks Engli

Another great week. When we first moved here from the working in the office we were worried about having enough good to do. In the office, our day was set before us. It was easy to see the work ahead, but as mentioned that work never unfolded as expected. Now we need to be more active in our pursuits to do the work of the Lord. This has been an intimidating challenge but the work seems to unfold before us.  One of the highlights of the week was to have a couple of Family Home Evenings with investigators of the missionaries. We have needed to work on a lesson that we can share and of course games and treats. We love to share about the restoration of Prophets and Apostles. And how the Organization of the church has been restored. We know the words and there are some good videos online. We love to play the flour game, where you pack flour in a bowl then turn it upside down and remove the bowl, then you put a coin on top. Everyone takes a turn to cutting away some of the flour un
