I'm not sure where the week went. As I start to look back on the week it just seems like a blur and I can't remember what we did. Hermana Borup tells me we were really busy and now that she reminds I guess I agree. We have been working with a family in the branch trying to help them become more active in the Branch again. They are a great little family but getting to church with a family of 4 on a very used motorcycle can be a challenge. We shared a family home evening with them and meet with them during the week to talk about faith. He is one of my teachers on how to make chicharrones. I tried to make some this week a failed miserably. But don't worry, I'm not going to give up. We were asked to do house inspections at the missionary houses. There are 16 missionaries in the zone. There are 2 houses with 4 missionaries and 4 houses with 2 missionaries. This is the second time we have done house inspections in the zone and the missionaries do a pretty good job of

It's been a long six weeks but she can finally start to exercise again. When we were home for Madison's wedding 78 weeks ago Hermana Borup had some surgery done on her foot. Since that time she has not been able to exercise and has only been able to walk with a special shoe. It is now off so we went to the beach to celebrate with her first swim in 8 weeks. We actually swam 3 times this week. SHe still can't run for a few more weeks and we are going to try to ride tomorrow. For those of you who know how much Hermana Borup loves running, you will know how hard this has been for her. She really has been positive though. This week was zone conference. They usually have 3-4 zones meet at the same time and are held one time every transfer period (6 weeks). This time around The President is having them with each Zone individually and we received training in the morning of the first day and then we went and practiced what we were taught and then reported and received more trainin

It is said that chicharrones were started here. That might be true but I know they were perfected here. This week we asked an investigator to teach us how to make them. $20 worth of pork spices, guineo (green banana) and yuca (cassava or tapioca) was all it took to feed 10. Richar took me to all his favorite places to get the freshest produce meat and spices. It was really a treat especially when we got to eat it. Hermana Borup didn't want to stop. We also got to eat another local specialty. It is called lambi. It is a type of seashell that is boiled or fried then mixed with vinegar and lemon juice. Santiago and his wife made us some that he had found in the ocean. As Hermana Borup said she has found her new favorite Dominican food. It was v
